WELCOME CODSBY KIDS!
"Hello, my name is T.J. and welcome to this fortress we call the Circus of Dead Squirrels Street Team. Basically, I was put in charge of maintaining this portion of the site, but alas, I have not brought this to fruition. I have not done a goddamn thing. I am just too busy with youtube, video games, and Family Guy. Omega and Ripchord say that our street team pages "suck dick". So, with all that said, someone else will be taking over shortly."

"Hey CODSby Kids! This is your good pal and resident worthless Street Team President Tuberculosis Jones. I'm reaching out to you today to get a show of opinion as to how we can better our Street Team in the hopes of getting more of you truly involved. Some of the ideas that I was throwing around that could be incentives for Street Team members were exclusive news updates, 30-second previews of yet-unreleased CODS material, free merch kits, CODS avatars / icons, myspace layouts, desktop wallpapers, etc., monthly contests / raffles for signed CODS gear, a slideshow for any fans that want to send in pics of them supporting CODS, and possibly an exclusive podcast (either audio or video) or "CODScast " if you will. If you feel that some of these ideas would make you want to be more involved with our promotional team, please tell us which, and I will compile an opinion poll to make this more worthwhile. In addition, if you have any other ideas that I have not mentioned here, or if you have any suggestions at all, I would be happy to hear them. Thanks for your support squirrels, and I look forward to hearing what all of you have to contribute.

~TJ, CODS"

Welcome CODSby Kids!  Most of you know what this is all about by now, but for those of you who are new to the team, here's the drill:  There are three levels of involvement a CODSby kid can aspire to; the common CODSby kid is responsible for a general spreading of the gospel of CODS, whether it be telling all of your friends to check us out, posting up fliers, handing out samplers, or any other usual street team gig.  Then there are our CODSby Captains, and in elite cases, CODSby Generals.  Generals objectives will be to keep our machine rolling forward, supplying new ideas and ways to increase the reach of the fanbase through the help of our captains.  Our captains remain the real hammer of the street team, and their objectives are as follows:

FIRST OBJECTIVE: HELP US WITH BOOKING

Each of you (and in a few cases a pair of you) have been assigned a designated area of captaincy. Within this area, you will be responsible for finding the venues that you think it would make sense for CODS to play. These venues should be the types of places you'd expect to see most of your national acts play. In other words, we're not looking for stadium venues, but we're not looking for VFW halls either. A decent 300-3,000 person venue would be ideal. Once you have determined a suitable venue, the most important step in the process will be information collection. We need you to find as much of the following list as possible for each venue:
Venue name
A couple of known or similar acts that have played the venue
Address
Website URL
Booking Contact
Any special booking information that might be displayed on the page
Average turnout
Average ticket price

Most of this information should be readily available on the venue's website, so no travel is necessary.  Once collected, post the information in the "VENUE IDEAS" portion of the forum below and we will look into them from there.

SECOND OBJECTIVE: TICKET SALES/ SHOW PROMOTIONS

If / when we book a show in your designated area, we will contact you individually to notify you of such. At said time we will ask you 2 things. How many tickets do you think you can sell? And what are you going to do to promote the show? We hope that you will be able to sell a minimum of 10 tickets personally (which we will get to you as soon as they become available), but in some instances where this cannot happen we'll make an exception, but in return expect you to go a bit more above and beyond with your promotional efforts. In return you will gain free admission to the shows in question, and eventually when it becomes available we will hook you up with some swag for your efforts as well.

THIRD OBJECTIVE: SPREAD THE WORD AND BE CREATIVE

Finally we ask you just to keep doing what you're doing. Make CD samplers (No more than 3-tracks please) and pass them out at shows you're going to. Tell all of your friends to check us out. If you're good with photoshop and the like, make banners and fliers to post and print/pass out. Bombard your favorite bands' message boards telling people to check us out. Basically whore us out to as many people as possible, as the more in demand we become, the more times we'll make it to your area, the more free shit you'll get. Also, if you know anyone in a related industry that might be able to get us hooked up with good merch prices or t-shirt printing, or even if you know a record shop that might be interested in carrying our albums, get in contact with them. Anything you can do to help, we'll appreciate, and more importantly, we'll recognize you for.

In closing, We'd like for you to get going on this first mission ASAP, and especially for those captains located on the East coast it is important that you try to get us as many venue ideas as possible quickly, as we are planning a short East-Coast tour to coincide with our St. Petersburg, FL based showcase show in mid-September. Finally, I'd like it to be known that I am recognizing two particular people who have shown particular strength in their abilities to promote for CODS, and I am thus promoting them to CODSby Generals. Bill Budd of PA and Rob West of FL will be leading you from here on in. If anyone gets stuck for ideas on ways to spread the gospel of CODS, then e-mail your generals at: hellroycorp@yahoo.com (Rob) and sixteenvolt420@hotmail.com (Bill).
